THE DEPARTED

| Four score and seven years ago, I updated this blog. Not too much has happened in the near month that I wrote last (lies) but instead of waxing historic with you all, I thought I'd share a few thoughts and discoveries of the last few weeks:
John Locke was a British Philosopher in the 17th century. I believe his views were that God communicated to us through things around us, and that it was our duty to find out God's will (probably wrong, I read this in my online history textbook last week). John Locke, one of the principle (and coolest) characters on ABC's LOST is the island's philosopher and leads other characters to find inner truth by looking around themselves. Coincidence? I think not.....
Why do people go to restaurants? Or, more specifically, why are the specific combination of people at a restaurant there on any given night? Not meaning the individual families, as they obviously plan to go there. But why are those120 people in Macaroni Grill on any given night there THAT evening? What stirs them all to gather? HRMMM? What if a giant robot attacked the rest. that evneing and all of a sudden those guests were granted super powers? Or they all became neurosurgeons? Farmers? Sounds like a pilot for a TV show.

This man is, by far, the Coolest guy with Tentacles on his face in a movie ever.
Way cooler than this guy.

| In lieu of writing my previous entry, I drove around Garland and thought about what I had said. And truth be told, the fact that I put such a post shows that I DON'T have faith that God will let me know, regardless of when I want it.
Sean raised a great point, but at the same time, a mental red flag is a mental red flag. And we all know bulls love red flags. As do race car drivers. I'm going to wait n' see on this decision I have to make. | | |
| It's been a good while since I've shucked out a decent update, but I do feel that I finally have a topic worth bringing to the great Net-o-Gore's attention. Lately I've been researching how to interperet Gods will. The Bible goes on and on and on and on about following it, but how do we KNOW it? Do I sit outside and wait for it to hit me like cosmic bird crap? If so, I'm ready to deal with the mess, and I'd be willing to stand outside with my mouth OPEN.
Let me clarify. There is currently a major decision on the front burner of my life. This decision is two fold: part of it dealing with timing, the other with trust. That's the only bone I'm throwing you people. What is important though, is to know that God has given me a hand full of blessings. It's a straight flush of queens, a queen that has been potentially given to me; one that I never though possible due to my own social inadequacies and the simple fact that most guys don't ever live this dream. This thing is beautiful in the way that the rain hits the texas pavement after months of drought, sending steam into your lungs and leaving you with the knowledge that this: this was fresh air. (end emo)
So that's it really. Less of a schpiel or me waxing philosophic. I'm asking for a call of advice. Anyone can submit their own experience in communicating with our Savior. I feel like the time is right, but that small part of me wants to hold out until......there is no doubt. Only bliss in Him.
